We had a great Christmas we spent a short amount of time with Charlie's parents and his sister and their kids before coming home to Christmas dinner at home Cody got quite a few gifts his favorite being Mack the truck from Grandpa (and an unexpected injury to the head) He had a lot of fun with Parker playing all day long. Cody was given some fish from Santa on Christmas eve which he is having a lot of fun watching swimming around I have no idea what type of fish they are he calls one his Zebra fish another is see through orange with bright orange fins and another is pink but thats about all I can tell you. I know helpful! Now to get new year out of the way and a happy hopefully healthier start to the new year.
Yes my baby has started crawling where oh where does the time go??? I will attach a video clip of him from this morning he started crawling yesterday so he is doing the army/inch worm type crawl but trust me he can get those knees up and really move when it comes to Cody's lightening Mcqueen toys! Turn the volume up and you can hear Cody singing the ABC song in the background!
We received some very special gifts this year which we are truly grateful for. We are ready for the festivity's to begin. Its actually not that stressful for us as we only have one family to visit. I am looking forward to Cody opening his gifts this year he seems so much more aware of everything he even thinks he has baby Jesus in his tummy waiting for Christmas morning to appear. We are going to make Baby Jesus a birthday cake tomorrow evening and make some cookies for Santa we even bought some carrots to lay out for the reindeer! I am trying to talk Charlie into buying some spray of some form to lay footprints of snow on the carpet where Santa walked "snow" into the house when he put presents underneath the tree, Charlie doesn't think its a good idea so I don't know if it will happen or not. I will be heading to Wal~mart tomorrow so I will see what I can find that may work.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Its been a difficult few days but I am without a doubt feeling better. That being said I don't intend going anywhere any time soon.
Last night was VERY scary I passed out putting Parker to bed (thankfully I had laid him in bed first) hit my head on the metal crib that is in his room, Cody was at a young mens meeting with Charlie so at least I didn't need to worry about his safety I tried with all my might to call Charlie without luck to get him home so I could go to the emergency room it was quite some time before he made it home! I wasn't given the opportunity to talk to him or even get a message to him! Hemorrhaging is no fun at all today I feel as though I have been hit by a ten ton truck I ache from head to toe my fingers and feet are so numb that its uncomfortable to walk I am still very dizzy and my head is pounding I'm not lifting Parker today so he is mad at me for laying on the floor all day long but I can't risk dropping him Cody is being a very good boy I think kids know when mommy is sick and behave in a perfect manner I even managed to sleep for an hour and Cody sat watching a movie. I survived. Hopefully last night was the peak of it and now slowly recovering.
Cody is getting excited for Christmas letting everyone he comes in contact with know that baby Jesus is in fact in his tummy! we still haven't gotten around to doing decorations we have been way too busy but I hope to get them done by tomorrow afternoon so will post pictures as soon as they are taken. Parker has a weight check with the pediatrician tomorrow morning he is doing exceptionally well a very happy go lucky little boy with few complaints he is teething right now which is bugging him a little but still that smile remains firmly in place! Cody is doing ok we can actually get him to eat a full sandwich at least once a day with no repercussions hopefully he wont fall back again he usually takes 2 steps forward then one back we will see what happens in January. Charlie and I are doing great dealing with the snow that fell last night we awoke to a soft blanket of white.. Time to get the snowblower out again!
Yes folks today is my birthday, another year older.
Cody is VERY proud of his baby brother. just one of the many occasions Cody has requested holding Parker.
Yes We have HEAT!
It turned out to be a broken fuse. No the heater guy never came out. Charlie climbed up in the attic and with the help of his dad and his dad's friend it took all of 5 minutes to figure out the problem. We still have little heat into Parker's room so I am still calling to get them to come and fix the vent but for now YAY HEAT!
No we still have no heat to the boys bedrooms! This house is freezing cold! No wonder they're both sick. Today has been an interesting day I went to craft store to see they have a new cricket cartridge of Disney's Cars well lets just say Cody had a complete melt down he had to have that cartridge so badly that I had to ask a member of staff to help carry Parker out to my car so I could carry Cody kicking and screaming. Needless to say Charlie will be happy because I wont be spending any money in the craft store for quite a while!
Yes I finally got Charlie to sit still to take a family picture for Christmas cards. No I don't like it but oh well I won't complain too much at least he sat still. unfortunately Charlie looks good its me that doesn't!
oooohhh I ate too many chocolates! I feel sick!
I am not destined to be a hair dresser! And we will simply leave it at that!
Nope, still no heat! hopefully they will come out before the snow seriously falls! It's getting colder by the day!
Today has been an interesting day, my door bell rings and of course I am still in my pajamas (as I tend to be until Parker goes down for a nap) and woo hoo there is the mail lady (Ann) with a HUGE parcel for me from UK. It would seem my Father feels bad for me being stuck out here in a land of no real Tea, chocolate, biscuits(cookies), Christmas crackers and tree chocolate decorations just to name a few lets just say I am in my element right now! Oh and a thermometer too (the in your ear kind) I am feeling somewhat spoiled. there were also a few things for the boys too that have been put away until Christmas.
Today was a sad day for me as I had the Chance to go and meet Millie (a dear friend of mine) in Vegas but unfortunately having both boys sick last week prevented me from going I just couldn't afford the trip. I am very sad about it and would have loved to have gone I even had my bags packed and ready in the car waiting for the go ahead from Charlie but nope I had to unpack again. :( Millie has been a great friend and been a huge support to me during the bad times and has always been there when I needed her through the trials we have had with Cody, Cody and her eldest AJ were born on the same day and only 2 weeks between Parker and Brady, she is a very special and dear friend. I am sorry I couldn't be with you this weekend x
I need to update on Family life a little since it has been about 2 weeks since my biological father came on the scene with my step mother and half sister. You need to know that the last time I saw my father my sister and I would have been approx 18 mo and the fact we are nearing our 32nd birthdays to suddenly have a strange man in our lives with a wife and daughter has been quite the roller coaster for everyone. Rebecca is adorable I couldn't ask for more in a baby sister. Chris is the step mother and we have alot in common from classical music to Ballet I look forward to getting to know her more and as For my Father; Colin he is an emotional cry baby. He met up with my sister Yvonne and her 3 "CHILDREN" and he barely spoke to her for emotions. At least a good year will have gone by by the time we meet so hopefully he wont blubber all over my boys. in the first post that I talk of him I had mentioned my feelings were still to be determined and I think I am positively impressed by him and look forward to knowing him.
Cody was heading up to the fridge when he tripped on the step causing his tooth to go straight through his upper lip this is a picture from the outside the inside is very black and blue the hole goes straight through! his face is very swollen.
It's bloody cold! I am getting ready to call the Maytag guy! My house is currently averaging 58 degrees and with 2 sick kids this is not good.
I am getting outfits ready for all of us so we can get a family picture done in time to send out Christmas cards I am very excited as we haven't done this before my friend Christa has designed them for me all I have to do is take the picture send it to her she will fill in the blank so to speak and mail it back to me so I can take the file to any store and get them printed out I wanted to do it over the weekend but 2 sick kids has made it impossible so tonight will be the night wish me luck I will need 2 happy kids well 3 if you count Charlie!
We went up to the Children's hospital for surgery only for it to be unsuccessful Cody ended up with a infection of his nose and throat while Parker came home with RSV and slight pneumonia. what fun! So here we are mopping up wet noses and trying to deal with 2 very cranky children.
This was taken via cell phone once he had fallen asleep it was a very long and restless night for both of us. Parker slept on the sofa bed I sat wide awake watching Cody suffer and Charlie slept in the car. now we find ourselves back to the drawing board what fun!
Wow what a day! I sit in anticipation from the Children's hospital ALL day long calling the poor pediatrician over and over finally getting a call (Too late) that Cody's surgery has indeed been rescheduled! Not too happy let me tell you! So home we come feeling miserable. On the upside we will be home for Halloween (and we all know Halloween is my fav holiday) on the downside Cody will miss his first school picture and we will not be able to do bonfire night which is a 5 year Flowers family tradition (thinking of doing it before we leave though). Surgery is planned for the 3rd November.Parker tried crawling today it was so cute and funny to see. He would get his knees tucked up to his chest and then faceplant straight into his blanket he tried several times, finally moving about an inch after a good hour of effort. he rolls around the floor chasing Cody everywhere he goes so I know I am in trouble once he masters crawling!
So we were all invited to Steve and Cheryl's house for a party. Cody had so much fun dancing with Cheryl it was hilarious.
As for the surgery Cody has to go back up to the Children's hospital to have surgery done on his stomach and intestines he will need a feeding tube for a short while to help his tummy with the healing process. We are waiting to hear back from the pediatrician on Monday morning with a time.
Parker is doing great he is a healthy bouncing baby boy and growing like a weed. He has started rolling all over the floor and chasing Cody he is quite the happy little lamb and Cody adores him.
Yes I am sad, Parkers bedroom is freezing cold and no matter how hard I try I cannot get the heating guy out here to fix it he just wont return my calls.
I spoke to Cody's pediatrician today and he is setting up an apt for Cody to have a eating study done in Salt Lake just awaiting the appointment as for the MRI he doesn't think its anything we should be overly concerned about he wants to get to the bottom of his vomiting so he doesn't loose any more weight.
Well today Cody was so excited because he had a field trip to the pumpkin patch he was so excited he wore his scary Halloween shirt with his new shoes and looked adorable waiting for his school bus. He had the chance to buy a pumpkin that was as big as he could carry and well lets just say he went for the biggest one in the field, He is so proud of that darn pumpkin!
Still no news on his health situation I have been researching a condition called Dyspraxia which explains alot about his speech weak muscles etc etc but will keep you posted as any news comes in.
On Saturday I get a Phone call from my sister fairly late in the day so I automatically know something is wrong as it was 2 am for her. It would seem we have a half sister that we knew nothing about her name is Rebecca she is 24 and lives in Scotland. Talk about a complete shock to the system! Not only am I trying to deal with a very sick little boy but now this I don't think my stress levels have ever been so high!I get the chance to talk to her and she seems really nice very down to earth and very secure with herself to contact us apparently she has always known who we are and has wanted to find us for quite some time. So as if this isn't a shock to the system in its own right Yvonne and I get the chance to talk to our biological father last night. How do I feel about this? Well that is still to be determined!
Ok so on Tuesday we are packing up for the trip I decide to get the boys in the bath so all I had to do was put them to bed once we arrived in Salt Lake. Well that didn'y work out too well as I lifted the baby up to get him out my thumb broke! Yes from lifting parker!! so a splinted thumb later we get on the road to Salt lake arriving in time for bed go to the dr apt they decide to hold of on the feeding tube and try one thing before it gets fitted so ok off to the zoo, Cody wanted to see the Gorillas so off to the gorilla house we go he looks through the window ad shouts Daddy Daddy what you doing down there? then turns and laughs at Charlie it was so cute he had so much fun right up until the point he tried shop lifting from the gift shop! head on home and a semi truck has rolled of the road right in front of us so a little delay here and there we finally made it home early hours of the morning. Not much to report as fas as the Dr visit Cody is to have another xray done on his stomach tomorrow morning.
Yes We are freezing! Winter has finally hit so we turn on the heater and no it doesn't want to work! Charlie will climb up into the attic tonight to see if he can figure it out but since we are leaving for Salt Lake tomorrow the repair peeps won't make it out here until we return.
As I was typing this I received a call from Cody's school he is running a fever of 103.4 so I went to bring him home he fell asleep in the car and is now snoring on the sofa, Just what we need some kind of sickness in time for his gastro appointment! He will be seeing his pediatrician this afternoon.
It was a stormy night both inside and out! Cody slept for a total of 3 hours had a night terror lasting over 2 hours, and generally being a cranky boy. Parker slept through his first storm, it didn't phase him at all.
Cody refused his breakfast yet again this morning, he ate a few bites of a cheese sandwich last night but soon became sick. We are going to try Parker on some sweet potato's today he is now 5 mo so we can try out some vegetables he loves his cereal so I think he will love sweet potato's as well.
Today we are staying home Charlie has the van getting a tune up in preparation for the drive to Salt Lake. We can't even walk to the mail box as it is raining right now and set to be raining all day. Cody is sitting in the window watching the rain sad that his swing set is getting wet, He wants me to go outside and pull a cover over it!
I have been asked about Cody's upcoming appointments and wanted to let you all know whats going on; He was diagnosed with Gastroparesis shortly after Christmas 2007. The appointment on Wednesday 8th is with a gastroenterologist in Salt Lake with upcoming MRI on the 16th in St George to check for any tumors or fluid on the brain.
Cody finally has his appointments set up for this next week and is doing ok he never sleeps and never eats but has remained his happy little self!Parker is growing like a weed and a very cute baby he learns new things every day. Its so cute to see how big brother plays with him they adore each other Cody just picked out Parkers first pair of shoes and will be the first to tell you all about them.
