Ode to Laundry!

Ode to Laundry
Oh you pile of filth

I see you mocking me
Taunting me as you grow
Didn’t I just wash you?
Your collection of grime and slime

It’s repulsive to my nose
You boast of freshness
Only to waft odorous tendrils after a day of wear
I must brave the stench

Touching each aromatic article
Unfolding arms and legs
Removing loose prizes I claim for my own
I stuff you in the washer

Pour that perfumed liquid over your rumpled mess
Praying that the ketchup will be coaxed out
Along with the sticky goo-Oh dear, is that a melted gummy bear?
Sigh
Oh, you chore that haunts me

Beckons to me
Shouts your displeasure of being ignored
You long to be worn again
Ready for a new day,
A new adventure, a new stain

I will conquer this beast
Perform this menial duty
Wash and dry you
Obligingly fold you
Put you in your various places and
Pretend this chore is over

Country bumpkin...

The beauty all around Cedar City is very extroadinary; The flower baskets that hang outside the main street stores, islands filled with flowers that are being taken care of by home owners instead of the city and then you have the Mountains! Today was a strange and welcomed day for the Flowers family, a day of no vomit and good spirits. So Cody, Parker and of course myself decided to take a drive up over the mountain to find Charlie who is camping for the deer hunt, Surprisingly I didn't get lost, Yes I took a wrong turn and we found ourselves sitting at the end of a lovely cinder path where a tree had fallen recently so we all got out of the car and just breathed the mountain air. The boys loved being outside Parker was no too happy about the dirt but played with all the pine needles, the beauty of being surrounded by nature is difficult to express. There is so much freedom the mountain holds so many secret trails, the road that just flows with the mountain the music as the wind blows through the trees and not forgetting the smell of fresh flowers and trees. after a few minutes we decided we had better go look for Charlie and we climbed back into our seats and drove back out of the trail. After just a few minutes we were on the right path and found Charlie we sat briefly watching a chipmunk steal the chocolate cake out of the window of one of the trailers opposite us and the wife come running out with a broom chasing him away only to realize he was quite content to sit on the roof of the trailer. That chipmunk had the right idea in my opinion.. Charlie caught a hornytoad for the boys to look at only to set it back down as Parker tried really hard to eat the poor thing, At least we know he wont starve if ever left alone on the mountain!
Afetr a few hours of being in the dirt and trees we decided to head home such a peaceful day and so much natural beauty all around it was tough coming home. I am a true country bumpkin. I would more than happily spend the rest of my life on the mountain!

House update..

Yes folks we are practically all packed up for the big move. We are currently still on schedule for the 27th this house is mostly packed today wemove the big screen TV, the 4 post canopy bed and the Piano leaving just the mattress' and the sofa. We plan on living with bare minimum over the next few day's which Hopefully will fly by quickly.

School for Cody has yet to be determined he loves TP's so I think if he does get into SE he will find it especially hard. The move in itself has been hard on him he is very confused at all the packing and moving. In preparation for the big day I actually borrowed an idea from my dear friend Alycia, We were at there house relatively close to Christmas one year and for Tori to understand time concept for Christmas day Alycia had made a chain out of paper where Tori would tear a piece of daily until finally there were no more links left to tear.. With this concept we have made on for Cody he knows each morning he wakes up he gets to tear off one link and slowly but surely we are approaching the moving day. It has certainly made life that little bit easier! So Thank you Alycia a wonderful idea!

We will update again soon maybe with some pictures. Have a happy week xx

5K on Saturday.

And I have been such a flake The last time I truly exercised was well over 3 weeks ago! I have a run this coming week and I am so not prepared for it! I did run around the back yard briefly a few nights ago but it wasn't 3 miles of a run! I hope I don't let myself down! I have a time of 36 minutes that I either need to tie or beat somehow I am doubting my abilities.
Cody had an evaluation in St George today that determined he needed further evaluation for another area which we will go into at a later time but he is understanding things at the age of an 8 year old I am so proud of him he is a smart little bugger.
Parker is growing like a weed and doing exceptionally well he can walk but chooses not to he will suddenly sit on his butt and laugh as soon as he realizes exactly what he has done its adorable!
Now for the big news!! We are moving we have found a house in Cedar City which is much closer to the stores, Charlie's work, Pediatrician etc 5 bedrooms 3 and a half bathrooms and absolutely perfect both Charlie and I love it we are scheduled to move by the 27th July. Watch this space for updates.
